An original mosaic tile floor that can be found in the Villa of the Ambulatio at the Archaeological park of Baia – Campania, Italy.

This intricately carved fragment is one of hundreds. Ornately carved marble was was used to decorate Roman homes during the 1st an 2nd centuries. Only the most rich and influential members of society could afford such luxuries.

This relief in stucco adorned wall of a small room, possibly a bed chamber, of a dwelling in the Villa of the Ambulatio area. The dove carrying the an olive sprig symbolized a wish for peace and prosperity.

The temple of Venere (Venus). This structure is actually located outside of the Archeological Park and cannot be entered on foot. It is located on the main street that runs through Baia just beyond the bounds of the Archeological Park. It was once topped by a magnificent dome some 70 feet in diameter.
